Microcurrent Point Stimulation (MPS)

At The Calm, we’ve begun harnessing the power of Microcurrent Point Stimulation (MPS therapy) to effectively address chronic and acute soft tissue pain as well as scar tissue and adhesions.
MPS uses a handheld device (Dolphin Neurostim™) that delivers precise microcurrent to specific acupuncture and trigger points. This gentle stimulation helps relax tight muscles, calm the nervous system, and encourages the release of endorphins (your body’s natural pain relievers).
By targeting the nervous, muscular, and endocrine systems simultaneously, MPS promotes balance and relief where your body needs it most.
Treatments are incorporated into your massage therapy session, are customized to your circumstances, and typically take between 3–20 minutes (depending on the protocol). Many people notice benefits within a few sessions, though lasting results often develop over 2–10 treatments.

Scar Release Therapy (SRT)

Scar Release Therapy (SRT) uses gentle microcurrent stimulation to help repolarize scar tissue — meaning it helps restore normal electrical balance in the skin and underlying tissues.
This process can reduce adhesions, soften the texture of the scar, and improve the mobility of the surrounding area.
Scars from surgeries like C-sections or tummy tucks can sometimes result in back pain, create tightness or pulling sensations, limit movement, or affect posture and core function. Because these scars are located in areas deeply connected to the abdominal fascia, they can also influence how nearby tissues move and communicate.
By working to soften and release tension within the scar and surrounding fascia, SRT can help:
  • Increase flexibility and comfort around the abdomen and hips
  • Support easier, more natural movement
  • Enhance connection and awareness in the core area
Many people describe their scar feeling lighter, softer, and less restrictive after a series of sessions.
SRT is gentle, non-invasive, and can be incorporated into your existing treatment plan. SRT sessions typically take longer than MPS sessions, but will vary based on the length of the scar. (We recommend 45 min for a c-section and 60-90 min for a tummy tuck incision).
Whether your scar is new or several years old, this therapy may help restore better movement and ease throughout your body.
MPS/SRT has been proven beneficial for a diverse range of conditions including; lymphatic blockages, arthritis, back pain and sciatica, knee pain, inflammation, as well as scars and adhesions (including caesarean section incisions/scars).
