Cosmetic Surgery After Care

Comprehensive post-operative care, guided by your stage of healing

Surgical recovery asks a great deal of the body. Our role is to provide steady, thoughtful care to support you through each stage of healing — in an environment that feels calm, private, and respectful.
Post-operative treatment is tailored to you and may include a combination of:
  • Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)
  • Scar Tissue Release (SRT)
  • Deep Oscillation Therapy (DOT)
The techniques incorporated into your session are determined by your procedure, your stage of recovery, and the presentation of your tissues at the time of treatment.
Care evolves as your healing progresses, and may include a combination of:
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)
A precise, light-touch technique designed to encourage the movement of excess fluid through the lymphatic system. Treatments are gentle and intended to feel supportive rather than forceful. MLD may assist in the management of swelling and may help reduce the likelihood of complications such as seromas, hematomas, and fibrotic tissue formation.
Scar Tissue Release (SRT)
A focused manual approach used in later stages of healing to address areas of restriction or tissue density. SRT may help improve mobility within the tissues and support comfortable, functional movement as recovery progresses.
Deep Oscillation Therapy (DOT)
A gentle, electrostatic therapy that creates a pulsing effect within the tissues. This technique may support fluid movement, help manage swelling, and provides a soothing effect.
Post-operative therapy may assist in the management of swelling and may help reduce the likelihood of complications such as seromas, hematomas, and fibrotic tissue formation.
Please note: MLD does not involve the manual expression of fluid through incisions. Incisional drainage falls outside the scope of practice for a Registered Massage Therapist and carries potential health risks. Questions regarding drainage procedures should be directed to your surgeon.
In many cases, treatment can begin within 3–5 days following surgery, provided there are no signs of infection or complications. Timing should always be confirmed with your surgical team.
Recovery timelines vary. A series of treatments is often recommended, and advance booking prior to your procedure helps ensure continuity of care.
